Azaria Chamberlain

Peace of Mind

It has been a long 32 years of trying to move on. Since Lindy Chamberlain and her entire family first appearance in the news, they probably did not expect to be part of a very long investigation process that led her to jail, giving birth in prison, divorcing and moved out Australia. Over time the Chamberlain family have been well known for one of the biggest misleading justice cases in Australian history. Recently the justice system spoke out and, with a sorry verdict admitted that the cause of death of the little Azaria was, being attacked and taken by a dingo. Even though the apology was sincere and the final assessment clear, there are still many people who believe there is something else, she must be not guilty but she is not innocent. The controversy of the case will always remain with those who consider that there could be a safer way to look after babies in rural places where not only dingos are a threat but, there are many other hazards in the wild lands

News Item

A successful ending of Police’s and murder’s business!

This is the type of news I enjoy to read the most!. This news with a happy ending, when the good guys got the first prize they were after since the beginning of the situation. Capturing alive the most wanted murderer. After 6 years of tracking him down and a very hard work, which involved a big effort of the community and the police, Malcolm Naden, had been caught. Police arrived at the house where Naden had, previously broke into, and confronted him at the door. He tried to run back but he was blocked by 25 Police Officers from the Tactical Operational Unit and tha Dog Unit. Naden was found in acceptable heath conditions despite living rough for all these years of searching.
The operation was delivered clean, and no shots were used. The dog unit played a reliable role during the procedure.
Malcolm will be charged with murder and the sexual assault of a teenager.
This news represents a significant relief for all the community members who were intimidated by Naden for nearly a decade. The families of the Malcolm’s victims are also glad with his capture and are hoping for justice.
As I mentioned this is the kind of news with a happy ever after ending, because this means the start of a new era of justice and a fair revenge. Good for all!

Clean Up Australia a worthy activity to be part of !

Clean up Australia was born in 1990 as a local community idea of cleaning Sydney Harbour which was affected by pollution and rubbish. Ian Kiernan described as an “average Australian bloke” started this environmental concern, which rapidly became a worldwide campaign. He is a passionate sailor, who achieved his dream of sailing through the ocean. In 1987 when he competed in the BOC challenge solo. After he has back in Sydney, he was determined to reverse the shocking damage to the sea caused by waste and pollution. That is how in 1989, Ian and Kim Mckay (his friend and later co-founder of clean up), launched clean up Sydney Harbour day. This was a massive success. It involved more than 40.000 enthusiastic volunteers who donated time and energy to make the Harbour spotless and more beautiful.
The next year, Clean up Australia was consolidated as an influential environment organisation which with the commitment of the community, government and business brought an effective solution to maintain our world safe, clean and green.
Currently Clean Up Australia appeals to 80 countries worldwide, interested in recycling solution and clean-up activities, similar to Australian model.
This is a remarkable example of how local, well-structured ideas can have a world appeal and being part of something that will change everyone’s mind. Being involved is an effortless task. Volunteers come from schools, local communities and businesses.

Cheating in sports.

Sport Magazine.

Dear reader,

I am writing to you regarding the extensive criticisms. They have been made about cheating and sport. This is well known that in a high body contact sport, players can easily be hurt, however, exaggeration is also part of the entertainment show.
Sports, as a part of a lucrative business, has a social commitment to avoid, prevent and frow on any type of cheating ,which is against human health. Doping and drug-taking before or during any competition must be severely punished by the authorities and the audience.
However, every time the players fall can not be pointed out as cheating. It is too much. This may be considered as a cheeky way to protect theirself and give the audience joy. High contact sport, as I already mentioned, is also part of a show.
Parents and teachers may be more careful at the time of consider what is or not cheating. Their pupils can follow the rules of being healthy and doing their best to became sports players and at the same time bring entretainment to the public.

Kind Regard,

Laura Martin.
